Prior to joining TVP in 2022, Leo was Head of Venture Capital at NNS Advisers, the family office for Nassef Sawiris. While at NNS, he assembled and managed a large venture portfolio of direct and fund investments.
Leo was previously a Co-founder of M12, Microsoft’s venture fund, where he built and led the U.S. investment team. He focused on early-stage investments in B2B SaaS, AI/ML, cybersecurity and future of work companies. His exited investments include Livongo (Nasdaq: LVGO, $18.5B acq. by Teladoc), Comfy (acq. by Siemens), Voicea (acq. by Cisco) and Zipwhip ($850M acq. by Twilio). Leo also led investments and served as Board Director / Observer at Agolo, CognitiveScale, Cooler Screens, Directly, GroundTruth, PandaDoc, Prevedere, RapidSOS, Skedulo, SpyCloud and WorkSpan.
Prior to M12, Leo was a Principal at Split Rock Partners where he backed entrepreneurs building leading software and cloud-based companies including Acquia ($1B exit to Vista Equity), BigCommerce (Nasdaq: BIGC), Black Duck Software ($565M acq. by Synopsys), Intacct ($850M acq. by Sage) and Vormetric ($400M acq. by Thales). Previously, Leo was an investor at Saints Capital and St. Paul Venture Capital, an investment banker at Lehman Brothers and in corporate development at AMD. He also served as a Lieutenant in the Singapore Armed Forces.
Leo holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
